About Me
Once upon a time, Laurel Burgess wanted to be a mad scientist; instead she graduated from Taylor University with a BA in Professional Writing—because even life writes plot twists.

When she isn’t writing her own stories, she seeks to understand the publishing experience to help authors succeed. She has helped with 90+ cover reveals, volunteered at a writers conference, interned at Quill & Flame Publishing, and spent a semester transcribing and editing sermons into a manuscript for her pastor. Now, as Mountain Brook Ink’s Project Manager, she is thrilled to continue learning how to best assist authors with their stories.

Aside from publishing, she also works as the Office Coordinator for Upland Community Church where she gets to use her love for Canva (creating approx. 180 bulletins a week) and her love for community in one cool office job.
